Fun & Fitness Charitable Event in Lake Zurich
Three years ago Sean Lee, Restoration Fitness owner, partnered with the Jeffrey Pride Foundation for Pediatric Cancer Research. As the father of two sons, the mission of the foundation touched a chord. On Friday November 15 from 5:30—7:30p.m., Restoration Fitness will host another “Push-Ups for Charity” promising to be another fun evening with contests, food, drink, silent auction and fitness competitions. For the first time, the public is invited to help surpass last year’s total of more than $19,300 raised. All proceeds go to fund new clinical trial cancer therapies.
More Trains Prompt Barrington Road Work
Village of Barrington officials announced in October that $48 million in federal funding has been approved by both the federal transportation Metropolitan Planning Organization and Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), for a long-awaited grade separation of the Canadian National Railroad at U.S. Route 14 in Barrington near the intersection of Lake Zurich Road.
The $48 million award, which comes from a newly created regional STP fund, provides the necessary funding for the underpass when it is added to the forthcoming state, local, and Canadian National shares for the project.
The railroad plans to run as many as 29 long trains through SW Lake Co., a 50% increase.
