I was 19 years old, fit, healthy and invincible. Until I wasn’t. Modern medicine couldn’t help me. My family couldn’t help me.

It was one of the scariest times in my life. I lost control of my health. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it happened, but one morning I woke up in a fog. I couldn’t think clearly. I felt out of sorts. It was hard to function. I was terrified. Day-after-day it got worse. I hoped and prayed it would go away, but it didn’t. My mom took me to doctor after doctor. I saw endocrinologists, neurologists and psychologists. Twice I went to the Mayo Clinic. I had blood tests, MRIs, CAT scans and lots of other tests. The test results always came back normal.

My options exhausted, I felt trapped. In a moment of panic, I made a decision: I will figure out a way to heal myself. From that point forward, I became obsessed with learning. I got my hands on everything I could read, watch and study related to nutrition, supplementation, exercise and holistic health. I took every college health class I could get in. I attended every continuing education course I could find.I read books, I researched, you name it, I did it.

After diving head first into the literature, I discovered my body was signaling an autoimmune response. This led me to make significant lifestyle changes in my diet, exercise habits and how I was taking care of myself. And over time something profound happened.I got better, much better! I healed myself.

Through this experience I discovered my purpose. My mission. My passion. To help people take control of their health. To find a place where they finally feel capable, confident, and free.

In my line of work, I meet a lot of people who want to lose weight, but more often than not, the thing people are most excited about after they go from sick, overweight and stiff to healthy is this feeling that they’re now:

  • More energetic and young-feeling.
  • Able to do things they’ve been putting off for years.
  • Empowered.
  • Proud of themselves and their new lifestyle.
  • Free from many of the anxieties and limitations that held them back for so long.

They’re happier, but not just because they look better. They’re happier because they feel better about themselves in all aspects of life. It’s transformational. What would it take to transform your health in 2019? Here are three secrets to get you started.

Define your goal and be intentional.

Most people focus on their problems. This begets more problems. Why? Because what you focus on is what you get more of. Decide what you want. Write it down. Expect it’s going to be harder than you think it’s going to be. Then be intentional with your actions. Your brain will give you what you want, but you must direct it.

Overhaul your belief system.

What do you believe about the things that you want? Life doesn’t give you what you want, it gives you what you believe. If what you want to lose weight and believe you can, you will every single time. If you don’t, you won’t. This is your inner work. Only you can do this work, but it is worth it. Start now. Think about what you want, where are your beliefs, and your job is to line them up, because you only get what you believe.

Take action

But first, fast forward five years from now, and everything in your life is 10 out of 10. Would you think, feel and act differently than you do today? Of course, you would. Act from that level of consciousness now. Don’t wait five years. Imagine you’re already there. And then, from that new conscious awareness, take action.

Want the secret formula? Well here it is… whatever changes you want to make next year, align your emotions and beliefs, then we take action. It’s your recipe for success every time, and easier than you may think.
