Long Grove Montessori School Earns Reaccreditation

The Montessori School of Long Grove, founded in 1975, has earned reaccreditation through the American Montessori Society. Recognition by this national organization is another example of the school’s ongoing commitment to school quality and improvement.

Having adopted the Montessori philosophy as a way of life and using Montessori methods and materials to help achieve its goals, the Montessori School of Long Grove believes strongly that a students’ daily school experience should be a happy and rewarding one. Becoming accredited by the American Montessori Society was voluntary and involved an intensive self-study by the entire school community. During the process, every aspect of the school was examined and documented, including governance, curriculum, fiscal and personnel policies, facilities, health and safety practices, teacher preparation and learner outcomes.

In its accreditation report the AMS accreditors noted: “This is a staff community that brings and experiences joy in the classroom.  They care deeply about each child, each family and each other.”
