“Christmas in July” Helps Feed Those In Need
The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) Women’s Biz Net (WBN) Council hosted a successful “Christmas in July” Food Pantry Drive that gathered food, household and personal care items to benefit local food pantries. From canned and boxed goods to paper products and household supplies, the WBN Council with help from Jewel-Osco delivered over 75 boxes of items on August 1 to the Barrington and Cuba Township food pantries.

Time to Decorate Barrington’s Town Scarecrow!
The annual Barrington Scarecrow Decorating contest is back again this year! Would you like Scarecrow supplies delivered to you in early September? If so, email Clancy Potts at email@example.com.
In mid-September, the Village will deliver to participating businesses/organizations a set of scarecrow-making supplies, including a hay bale, a bundle of corn stalks, burlap, and twine. You then use your own materials and creativity to create your best scarecrow by September 27. Email your scarecrow’s photo to firstname.lastname@example.org; it’ll be uploaded to the village website for voting by the community.
Harbor Retirement Associates Raises Funds for Alzheimer’s Research
Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), a senior living development and operating company with an outpost in Long Grove, recently raised more than $17,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association through a national “Go Purple” fundraising event. “Each and every one of us has a reason to want to end Alzheimer’s,” said Kim Lewis, Chief Operating Officer of Harbor Retirement Associates. “At HRA, we are committed to raising awareness and money to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s, once and for all.” The funds will go to local 2018 Walk to End Alzheimer’s teams.

Wine Walk Returns to Barrington
Barrington’s Spring Wine Walk in April was such a success that the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce and the Village of Barrington are partnering once again to host a Fall Wine Walk on Saturday, October 13, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.
Participants will be able to stroll throughout the Village and experience tastings of unique wines at multiple locations. Interested village merchants who want to be a stop the Wine Walk may register at barringtonchamber.chambermaster.com/eventregistration/register/22138.
