Like beauty, style is in the eye of the beholder. The team at SW Lake Lifestyle consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have such generous companies in the area who know a thing or two about what’s going to be in style as the weather cools around here.

Marcy Sparr and Annie Lang run a marvelous fashion boutique in Kildeer called LUXE Wearhouse. A casual observer (who happens to be the father of two adult daughters who shop smart and always look great) knows that the cozy chic of Marcy and Annie is emblematic of the SW Lake lifestyle. Denim, fringe, lace, leather, comfortable and personal is the easiest way to describe the fall fashions that grace several pages of this issue.

Joy Jones is an event designer and planner relatively new to the area. Her passion – throwing great events – has turned into a business (Joy Jones Planning & Design Co.). Recently, Joy pulled together a wide cross-section of area professionals to put on a spectacular event at the Cuneo Mansion in Vernon Hills. Her photos and amazing eye for style debut on these pages.

Bonnie Conte, owner of Avalon Salon & Spa, is a FOSWLL (Friend of SW Lake Lifestyle). She generously opened her salon to help us better understand how with the change of season there’s a shift in colors for hairstyles, make-up and nails. Her insights are shared this month, too.

As you can see, SW Lake Lifestyle continues to be a community collaborative. Our goals from Day One (24 issues ago) are:

  • Tell the stories inspired by the people in the wonderful communities we call home in SW Lake.
  • Help our valued business partners achieve even greater financial success.

What’s your story? We’d love to share it.
