ATHENA Awarded to Dr. Denise Casey

A local doctor, Denise Casey, has joined the ranks of successful women that include former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg when she was recently honored with an ATHENA Award.

With offices in Barrington and Lake Zurich, Dr. Casey is the founder of Barrington Behavioral Health and Wellness. She leads a staff that provides in-office and home-based services for seniors, those with disabilities, individuals dealing with divorce recovery, anger management and parents of substance users, among others.

“The ATHENA Award was created in 1982 to illuminate inspiring women leaders that excel in their profession, give back to their communities, and most importantly, are a role model to other women,” says Suzanne Corr, President/CEO of the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce, in presenting the ATHENA to Dr. Casey. SW Lake Lifestyle was a sponsor of the award luncheon held at Biltmore Country Club. ATHENA Awards have been given in 500 cities and 8 countries.
