SW Lake Lifestyle is pleased to launch our new “Beer From Here” feature, focusing on unique local breweries and their brews. We kick it off with an outstanding brew from Roaring Table.
Roaring Table, recently opened in Lake Zurich
$7, served in a 17 oz. Tulip glass
Dark brown with ruby highlights
Expect coffee and dark chocolate flavors upfront, with a creamy body and a surprisingly crisp, clean finish.
Espresso roast and dark chocolate notes dominate the nose.
How Best Paired:
A versatile beer that pairs well with a range of flavors. We enjoy it with our bacon flight, but it would make a nice counterpoint to fresh oysters on the half shell as well.
Overall: A dark and contemplative beer that nevertheless is very approachable. While coffee and chocolate are prominent, this oat stout finishes dry and is very drinkable.
Final Comments: Roaring Table is a small batch brewery making a wide variety of beers by hand. Their taproom features a number of seating areas, including a live-edge ash bar, communal tables, high-tops, and a lounge with couches and a fireplace. RT is working to foster a community of craft enthusiasts who can drop by for the latest brew or enjoy a glass of wine in a cozy, upscale environment.
