Windy City Bulls and SW Lake 
Lifestyle Tip-Off Together

Fans of the Windy City Bulls joined SW Lake Lifestyle for a pre-season kick-off party at the Sears Centre Arena last month. An evening of fun, good food and drink, and even a shoot-around for fans on the WCB home court were highlights of the event, hosted by Bob Love, Chicago Bulls legend and a motivational speaker in his own right. Windy City Bulls, the G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, kick-off their second season with the home opener in November.

Run the Shores at Lake Barrington (5K Race/1 Mile Fun Run/Walk)

The Lake Barrington Shores Community Homeowners Association is hosting the 7th annual 5K race and 1 mile fun run/walk on Saturday, September 16, at 8 a.m. benefiting the Cuba Township Food Pantry and Cuba Cares, a 501c3 to help local families and individuals in need of assistance.

Run the Shores will begin at the Market Place Shopping Center located at Rt. 59 and Kelsey Road.  Runners and walkers will wind their way around the Lake Barrington Shore’s picturesque community on a USATF certified course which includes a route around the Village’s namesake lake and through a private forest preserve. Race bag, Run the Shores t-shirts and refreshments will be provided to all participants.  Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers by age category.  A raffle will be held following the race with prizes from area businesses.  The 5K run will be professionally timed by RaceTime with timely results available at the finish and posted on multiple web sites.

Participants can pre-register online and by mail, or register the day of the event from 7 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.  Registration fee is $20 for adults ($25 on race day) and $10 for children 12 and under.  Flesk Brewing Celebrates 
Grand Opening

The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce gathered with the Village of Barrington on Thursday, August 3, for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of Flesk Brewing at The Ice House Mall and Village Shops, 200 Applebee St. in Barrington.

Founded by brothers William and James O’Brien in 2012, the brewery features a large tap room with a bar and seating for over 75 patrons. “Flesk Brewing is named after a castle in Ireland that our father had toured as a young man,” said owner Will O’Brien. The brewery offers sample size 5oz. pours and 16 oz.

Full Circle Dance Center 
Celebrates New Dance Sessions 
with Ribbon Cutting

The Wauconda Area Chamber of Commerce, local business leaders, and dance students recently celebrated completion of the Dance Center’s second season and the launch of its new Fall schedule of classes, beginning September 5 and running through January 14.  Owner Kelly Kledzik and her team of instructors teach a broad range of dance styles for all ages (toddlers through adults) and experience levels (new beginners through advanced).
