Creatures of the Night 2

Rock ‘N Rollers Live Among Us

Maybe you’ve seen them around SW Lake County. Up on the stage, playing star again at places like Main Street Outfitters, Middleton’s on Main or Strawberry Moon (Wauconda), Broken Oar (Port Barrington), Chessie’s (Barrington), Onion Pub (Lake Barrington) and Copper Fiddle (Lake Zurich).

At daybreak on Mondays they put away the leather, band-themed tee shirts, funky hats, boots and blue jeans to resume life as parents, students, business owners, corporate execs, teachers and software coders. They practiced their art & craft for years. They were band kids. They had garage bands. They pushed through long ago the 10,000 hour threshold to be expert, accomplished professional musicians.

If you haven’t been to a local hangout in a while, it’s time to go. What you’ll hear and see will make you feel good. Who knew that your neighbor down the block was actually leading a double life as a creature of the night?
