Two All-New Mercedes-Benz C-Class Models
Drivers will be happy to learn about the two all-new versions of the famous C-Class luxury compact sedan soon to arrive at Motor Werks of Barrington, a leading Chicago area Mercedes-Benz dealership. The new models will include both a high-performance AMG® tuned model—the C450 AMG® 4MATIC®—and a high-efficiency plug-in hybrid—the C350e Plug-In Hybrid.
C450 AMG® 4MATIC®
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG® 4MATIC® is an all-new model that slots in between the range-topping C63 AMG® and the base C300 model. It will come with a turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine that will crank out 362 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque, and will get 4MATIC® all-wheel drive standard. It will also benefit from all the AMG® performance tuning in the suspension and transmission. It will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in a rapid 4.9 seconds and will run into an electronic limiter at 155 mph.
C350e Plug-In Hybrid
The new C350 Plug-In Hybrid will provide ample power and impressive efficiency thanks to its combination of electric and gas power. It will come with a 6.2-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor capable of pushing the vehicle for up to an estimated 18.6 miles on electricity alone. The rest of the power comes from 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. All told, the hybrid system is capable of generating an impressive 275 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes-Benz says that it will have an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. No EPA estimates have been released as of yet, but we expect them to be pretty impressive.
